Bangkaan Peak Trail "The Clouds Highway"

Why do we encourage you to join the 1st Leg of NTDR III Trilogy Championship? We do encourage you to join because as trail runner, you dont always see this phenomena where the clouds settled down some 500 meters above sea level and as they follow the path in between the mountains of the Sierra Madre mountain ranges, they pass through several upland barangays like passing through a highway and can be best appreciated at the top of the mountain some 600 meters up we call the Bangkaan Peak. The clouds pass on continuously without breaks for more than 1 hour and just as suddenly as the clouds appear, they also suddenly by magic disappear from the eyes. Those magical moments are a wonder to behold and exhilirating. The feeling of being on top of the world in that moment in time would be a priceless memory that leaves you in awe as if the world stops moving. Fact is many runners took a long time even to finish 10k because of what they saw that made them froze and from then they forgot about their time and just enjoy the sight of such natural wonder.

One trail runner before shared the experience he said it was like kissing the clouds because he was practically inside it and you felt the cool mist of tiny droplets of water surrounding him. He thought it was just a fog, visibility was just like 5 meters ahead and then zero, but as he ran uphill and reached the highest point where the clouds started to break and coming out of it, he saw the breathtaking view and experienced he never expected of the race. The early morning sun emerged and clothed him with its mild warm while he saw the sea of thick clouds as far as the eyes can see in a very long formation without breaks as if traversing an invisible highway. He looked up and nothing but clear blue sky he was above the sea of clouds with tips of the mountains from afar protruding as if emphsize where the horizon lies. The heavens emptied itself and he saw how mighty God is in his creation.

Nothing compares to it and it comes only at certain month, day, and time that it's not easy to document. One must be ready with the camera and most certainly it will come again on May 25, 2014 at exactly the same spot where Nature's Trail Discovery Run begun on May 27, 2012 in the same place we call the Bangkaan Peak Trail.

This is what makes the 1st Leg of NTDR III Trilogy Championship so special that we are going out of our way to share to the runners come, see, and experience it yourself. Its a race different from other races not just because of the competition where every Leg of the trilogy series is important for those who try to be part of the Top Trail Runners to be awarded and given recognition, but because of what it uniquely offers, the rare treat of a natural phenomena in one moment of time. We too are excited to see it again and this time to document it with video and photos of runners as they emerged from the clouds to reach the summit. You may run in many races and when you go back its the same but in NTDR III Trilogy Championship its going to be one of a kind. Its one discovery you will always remember - and the race lives up to its name - Nature's Trail Discovery Run! See you.
