Top Trail Runners of the Year Award
Once more we are now at the 3rd and Final Leg for the NTDR II and the last stage for choosing the Top Trail Runners of Year Award which for this year will come from the 10k, 21k, and 50k categories. This is to encourage runners to step up to longer distances categories for them to keep up with with foreign national runners of international calibre in line with our objective to form the Pimco-Philippines Trail Running Team that will compete in trail running races abroad.
The 2013 Trail Runners of the Year Award will be simultaneously held in the 3rd and Final Leg with the Annual Awarding Ceremony to be held immediately after the awarding for the 3rd Leg Winners and the Trilogy Champions.
The Annual Awards to be given will include the following:
a. Top Trail Runners of the Year Award (PTRA)
b. Trailblazers Award (Pimco Trail Runners Club)
c. Trail Runner of the Year (Top honor PTRA)
Candidates for the Awards are available here taken from the results NTDR II Trilogy Championship. The basis of Top Trail Runners of the Year will be the cumulative finish time in NTDR II and matched with the consistency shown in Love A Tree performances. PTRA will give the Top Trail Runners of the Year while the Trailblazers will be given by the newly formed Pimco Trail Runners Club (PTRC).
The candidates that will be chosen from among the competing runners will come from the different categories and divisions and here are the rules that will guide us in the selection:
1. The Top Trail Runners of the Year Award is about speed and consistency of runners. Winning in several races that include Love A Tree and the NTDR II Trilogy will help in the choice of the Top Trail Runners but the main factor is the runners total performance in NTDR II.
2. A total of 50 runners for the year 2013 will be chosen for the Top Trail Runners of the Year Award, Top 10 Runners from 50k, Top 25 Runners from the 21k (15 from male Division and 10 from Female Division), and Top 15 Runners from 10k (10 from male Divison and 5 from female Division). To be eligible in the ranking for the Top Trail Runners of the Year Award, candidates must have their time within the time limit not exceeding a fraction of a second. Thus while PTRA is allotting up to 50 runners should the runner failed to qualify to make it within the cut-off time based on time limit given on each of the category covering both male and female division its possible that there will be less than 50 runners to be given the Award. This makes the Award a true achievement that runners work hard to get.
3. For the Trailblazers Award any number of runners that will qualify which is either completing all the three (3) Legs of NTDR II or at least having run the 1st Leg and the Final Leg (Having registered in the 2nd but failed to run due to conflict in the change in schedule) Trailblazers have no ranking unlike the Top Trail Runners.
4. The Trail Runner of the Year (Individual Award) shall be the highest honor to be given to individual trail runner and its open for both the Local and Foreign Runners. Only the 21k (male and Female) and the 50k Categories will be chosen the individual honor of Trail Runner of the Year. Trophies will be given to the Trail Runner of the Year.
5. Special Awards and honors will be given such as but not limited to the following:
a. Most Popular Trail Runner.
b. Most Promising Trail Runners.
c. The Trail Running Kid Award given to the young runners aged 15 and below.
d. Other Awards and Honors.
The Annual Awarding Ceremony will proceed immediately after the awarding of the 3rd Leg Winners. The Awarding for the Trilogy Champions will be part of the ceremony to give honors to the Trilogy Champions and Runners Up. The Mythical Trail Running Team called Pimco-Philippines Trail Runner Team to compete abroad composed of 3 main runners and 3 alternates chosen by Pimco will be announced.
