From trail running to mountain bike racing, this is the new trail duathlon or what Pimco Sporting Events now famously called DuaTrail Championship Series.

Become the first batch of DuaTrail athletes to experience the trail duathlon - 6km trail running - 50km mountain bike - 12km trail running Sierra Madre Duathlon Challenge 2014 which will be a first in the country done in the mountains. Its an extreme challenge to athletes who want nothing less but race competition that can bring out the best in them. DUATRAIL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES I

SIERRA MADRE CHALLENGE '14

 

 

“Duatrail” is an Extreme Multisport Duathlon race event to be held in the Sierra Madre Mountain Ranges in Tanay, Rizal for bikers/trail runners and triathletes. It’s the newest racing event designed by Pimco Sporting Events as organizer and owner of the Duatrail Championship Series. This event will be held in off-road and all mountain trail routes carefully selected to provide participants with challenges at maximum range elevation of 745 meters above sea level.

 

The Duatrail Championship Series is a 2-Leg series starting at 6km trail run, 50km biking, and 12km trail run for the Series 1 then a step-up second of the Series 2 at 12km trail run, 100km Mountain bike, and 24km trail run. The 2014-15 series will start on November 23, 2014 for the Series 1 while Series 2 is scheduled on March 8, 2015.

 

There are two categories the Individual Solo Race where the individual participant do the running and the biking while the doubles will have a 3-member team, two runners will do the running in each of the 6km and 12km and the 3rd member will do the cycling.

Requirements for Runners:

 

This is trail duathlon, trail running/mountain bike race event. Participants should gear up for the trail and therefore should bring the following at the reception of runners during the day of the event. Failure to show the required gears and equipment may mean disqualification from the race.

 

  1. 2 x 20oz bottle for rehydration or backpack water bag. You will be responsible in refilling water at the designated aid stations along the route. The organizer will not offer cups or bottle. Rehydration bottle or cup is a must.

  2. Mountain Bike and Standard Helmet for cycling and gears.

 

Assembly and Gun Start

 

Saturday, November 22

Cut-Off Time

 

There will be a cut-off time at 12 noon. All competing participants in the solo and the team relay should have crossed the finish line. After the cut-off time, runners who are still 5km away from the finish will be taken out of the race and DNF. Runners who are within the distance not more than 5km will be allowed to cross the finish line and will have official time at 7 hours +.

 

Awarding of Finishers and Winners

 

Finishers will be awarded the Finishers Shirts and Finishers Medals upon crossing the finish line.

 

Awarding of Winners shall commence at 11:30 am or when all the winners of all categories have already crossed finish line whichever comes first. Should winners in each category are not yet complete and identified, Awarding may be delayed to allow winners to be completed.

 

PROVISIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS SERVICES

 

Hydration  - Runners are provided with “refilling stations” for free hydration. Please bring at least 20oz hydration bottle. In observance of Environmental laws, we will not serve cups in the stations along the race route not more than 5 kilometers apart. Cyclist hydration station will be at the transition area at the start of mountain bike race and at the halfway round turn.

 

Banana – Free banana for the runners and cyclists are available in designated stations and at the Finish Line for the needed potassium supply of the body. Runners and cyclists should bring their own energy drinks and replenishment. Some sponsors may at times provide sampling of their products but this is not guaranteed.

 

Food Services – There will be food available at tents from restaurant at affordable prices for the participants, you may buy your own food. There are also food services outlets nearby the venue the choices are varied but prices affordable. Runners may avail anytime of the day.

 

Accommodation – There are hotels, appartelles in Tanay, accommodations are available for 12 hours and 24 hours. For rates, we can assist you, please contact us if you need one.

 

Transportation – Considering both the Solo and Team Relay include the transport of the mountain bike, you are expected to provide for your transport.
